Cut and Find!

A Scissor Skills Activity Book

Every picture your child cuts out has somewhere to go. A rocket cut on one page belongs in outer space on another; a whale belongs in the sea, a lion at the zoo. Cut it out, find its home, glue it on.

Cover of Cut and Find! — scissors cutting out a whale, a lion, a rocket, an apple, a dinosaur and a train

What is inside

Three levels, from first snips to whole pictures, then ten glue pages where every piece has its own home.

Level 1 page: cut the road to the car

●First snips and lines

18 pages of short snips and straight, wavy and zigzag lines. A scissors mark shows where to start and a dot shows where to stop.

Level 2 page: cut a circle out of a picture

●●Shapes

14 pages: cut a circle, a heart, a star or another shape out of a picture. Each shape is a piece for a glue page.

Level 3 page: cut around a whole rocket

●●●Whole pictures

16 pages with an outline to follow around a whole picture — a rocket, a whale, a dinosaur, a fire truck and more.

Zoo glue page with three picture-shaped homes

10 glue pages

The sea, the zoo, a fruit basket, a dinosaur valley, outer space and more. Each home is the shape of its piece, with the name printed inside.

How a page works

Made for small hands and the grown-up sitting next to them.

A cutting page and its blank back page side by side

Printed on one side

The back of every cutting page is blank, so cutting one page never spoils another.

Cat guide saying find its home on page 100

A guide on every page

A friendly animal from the Tiny Tails friends tells your child which glue page each picture belongs on.

Answer page listing where each picture is glued

An answer page

For grown-ups: where each of the 30 pictures is cut out, and which glue page it goes on.

Before you start

✂️ Grown-ups first

  • The pages are not perforated. A dashed line near the spine shows where to cut each page out, so your child holds one flat sheet.
  • Scissors are not included — please use child-safe scissors with a grown-up nearby.
  • Coloring first, then cutting, is easier: a cut piece of paper is floppy.
